Many religions, faiths and beliefs exist today, each starting with its unique story and very different from its original form. Hinduism is one such major religion, comprising many streams and sub-streams. Most of us have a general idea of Hinduism, but let me brief you on it anyway.
Hinduism is a religion or dharma, a religious and universal way of life by which followers abide. Around 15% of the world's population identifies as Hindu. Religion aside, there are lessons to learn from Hindu philosophical books like the Bhagavad Gita, Mahabharata and more. But life lessons can seem like such a huge deal for young people, so let's talk about something more relatable, lessons for students.
It may come as a shock to some, but yes, ancient scriptures are relatable even in this modern era. Let's go through them one by one.
Lesson 1: Changing Seasons
The second chapter of the Bhagavad Gita speaks of the changing seasons, from summer to winter. In summer, regardless of the flowers blossoming and pleasant weather people don't stop working. They will celebrate for a while but never cease their daily activities. On the contrary, the cold winter season brings about barren white lands, but people remain diligent as ever.
Similarly, our lives as students will have many ups and downs. Some days will be productive, and we will have good exams, like the summer. But other days may not be fruitful, and tests can go wrong. In both cases, one must not get distracted from their goal. Being focused does not mean don't celebrate or mourn but rather don't let the celebration or mourning affect your path to success.
